Richard Rohi Sylva-Jaja is a multifaceted minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ who is deeply dedicated to various roles that contribute to personal and spiritual growth. His diverse background encompasses roles as an author, pastor, gospel radio/TV presenter, Bible school instructor, Bible scholar, leadership expert, conference speaker, husband, and father.
His unshakable foundation of personal integrity is firmly rooted in his relationship with God. Since April 23rd, 1984, he has nurtured a profound relationship with Jesus Christ, a relationship he holds dear above all else. His hunger for God’s Word drives him to live by biblical principles and culture. His ardor for ministry is born from a longing to lead individuals toward finding God through faith in the atoning death of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Central to his life’s purpose is the desire to make a positive impact on humanity, motivating them to transcend past constraints and achieve their utmost potential.
For about three decades, he has been unwaveringly dedicated to this mission: assisting people in breaking free from inhibitions and realizing their loftiest aspirations. His greatest joy is being used by God to initiate transformation in people’s lives.
Divine providence has guided him through profoundly challenging experiences, which God has wielded as tools to shape his character. The pain he has endured has been harnessed by God to prepare him for the greater purpose He has in store for him.
Today, Richard Rohi Sylva-Jaja comprehends the transformative power of pain and its impact on any individual. He sees pain as an instrument of motivation. Having walked that path himself, he possesses an innate ability to perceive when those around him are suffering and is adept at standing alongside those who are burdened and broken, providing them with the care and support they need.
Brought up in a Christian household, Richard Rohi Sylva-Jaja is the second of eleven children, born amid the Nigerian Civil War on January 19, 1968. His late parents were committed to the Lord and served Him faithfully until their glorious transition in 2011 and 2021, respectively. From their wealthy spiritual background, they set examples that bestowed upon him a robust spiritual groundwork.
Emerging from the nurturing embrace of a household shaped by divine providence was an undeniable blessing. It granted him an advantage that many of his peers from the same era did not have the privilege to experience. While his family life had its imperfections, his late parents poured their utmost efforts into raising them in the way of the Lord.
At the core of his home was an ethos of discipline, a virtue that shone brightly. Daily guidance from the scriptures and corrections when he or any of his siblings stumbled were the norm. His late parents consistently upheld the standards they preached, ensuring that the examples they set remained unwavering. Through their dedicated efforts, their home blossomed into an atmosphere steeped in Christian values, nurturing a moral compass that directed them toward the right path.
Though his relationship with God didn’t fully flourish until he turned sixteen, he held a deep reverence for God. Even before this spiritual awakening, he exhibited decency as a young boy. His attire was dignified, his friends were chosen thoughtfully, his speech was thoughtful, his habits were guided by biblical ethics, and he treated others with genuine respect. These qualities and principles directly reflected the values and environment nurtured within his home.
My Hobbies
As a person with diverse interests, Richard Rohi Sylva-Jaja engages in hobbies that reflect his curiosity and passion. These include reading extensively, writing, traveling, meeting people [he loves people], discovering new words & studying them, offering help to people, serving people, playing with kids [he loves kids a lot], mentoring young people, viewing photographs, doing topical studies/research, keeping artworks, singing, playing the piano, watching a football game, cooking, listening to orators, watching investigative movies, teaching, having topical conversations, and enjoying quality time with loved ones.
